So many times individuals have a new concrete overlay applied without the subsurface being properly prepared or repaired. The results are usually obvious in a short period of time. Cracking, lifting or discolorization are the usual visual signs.

While concrete can never be 100% guaranteed not to crack, it can be minimized with the proper preparation.
